“DETACHMENT FROM SELF-ASSERTION BRINGS FULLNESS OF LIFE”

 

O’ Master,

 

Think not of self,

But let Thy love encompass other hearts,

True love hath no boundary lines;

Like the infinite sky, it covers all space.

 

Forget yourself as much as often as you can.  One cannot conceive a holy life without self-forgetfulness.  As long as we think of ourselves, we cannot think of God.  We should be able to lay down the little self without any sense of loss.  This becomes easy when a holy cause is born in the mind or when a holy purpose rises in the heart, which blesses and sanctifies.

 

By remembering ourselves we develop more affinity towards personal life.  We lose the courage to sacrifice many things towards detachment.  We seldom get time to remember our beloved Master and complain about short of time.  When we try to empty our mind from the feeling of ‘my’ & ‘mine’, His energy enters in us and give strength to sacrifice something for the sake of Divine Master.  The more we become personal, we distance ourselves from our Master.  Spirituality is the training to live “with” & without”.   We live with Him and we try to live without ‘mine’.  Our holiness depends upon the emptiness that we create in ourselves.

O Thou All-compassionate Spirit,

May I have such love and gentleness that Ii shall never hurt anyi loving being

May I hold such thoughts as will uplift my heart and mind

May I always remember that Thou art the only Doer

He who is without discrimination and whose mind is always uncontrolled, his senses are unmanageable, like the vicious horses of a driver.  But he who is full of discrimination and whose mind is always controlled, his senses are manageable, like the good horses of a driver.

Mind embraces that which is disturbing and undesirable; but it is not a natural state, not a natural state because every individual suffers when his mind is out of balance. Man cannot take a destructive attitude without destroying himself.  He cannot indulge in hatred, anger, jealousy, without working his own ruin.  You must try to cultivate lofty thoughts and feelings.  Then it will be impossible for you to do anything ignoble.

 

Mind control is one of the practices of spiritual training.  Mind gets involved into unwanted things, emotionally & sentimentally.  Mind is polluted when we indulge in negative thoughts and activities.  Mind is the medium through which we read and understand every event.  Mind is also the tool for Truth Realization.  If the mind is clear from all thoughts, it receives divine energy through blankness.  If we try to control our mind, it becomes impossible, because we have to sacrifice a lot of time for it, sometime the whole life.  But in NC, with the help of our beloved Master, our mind loses the capacity to think negatively and reaches blankness within a short duration.  This blankness balances and controls the mind automatically.

We, the Children of Light, walk in the light of love;

Let all darkness vanish from our path of love!

We, the Children of Light, dwell in the light of love!

Think of the light and live in the light of love!

 

The world is conquered by that one whose mind rests in his spiritual being.  If a man keeps his thought fixed on his lower self, in spite of all his planning and calculating, he will give way to anger, hatred and jealousy, and his face will bear the mark of anger or hatred.  If a man has love in his heart, his whole countenance will be shining.  If we carry a sense of consecration with us in all we do or say, we become a channel for the Highest, and as channel our power is unlimited.

 

It is the light that leads towards the ultimate.  This light is transmitted by our beloved Master with his utmost love and trust in us.  When the divine love penetrates into our mind, we experience the condition of love that we have not received so far from anyone.  We should make this love to spread to others.  Spiritual practice is to attain this Divine Love so that we get tremendous strength and courage to live with love and give love to others.  Every human being can experience love and once we give this divine love to the human beings, they respond with the same condition.  Problems from human beings can be solved once we start loving them removing our prejudice.

He who is moderate in eating and recreation,

Moderate in his efforts in work,

Moderate in sleep and wakefulness,

his spiritual practice becomes the destroyer of all his miseries.

Bhagavad-Gita

 

When mind is afflicted, bodily health shows it very quickly.  A well-ordered mind and body bring health and happiness.  There is an order in the system; and when we work in harmony with that order, health and happiness result.  We do not need to be disturbed by outside things.  It rests with us how we shall be affected by them.  If we eat normally, drink normally, think normally, our power is bound to increase.  That which we acquire normally, that is abiding.  When all our actions and thoughts are balanced and normal, life does not weary us.  It is not work or activity which tires.  Work never wears us out.  It is the state of mind which wears or renews. A powerful mind never gets tired.

 

Everybody has to work hard if they want to live happily in this world.  This hard work does not mean that you should become workaholic.  Anything if it becomes hard, it cannot be useful for longer time.  Intelligent people never become a workaholic and they do not spend much time in work, but produce results within short time.  Be moderate all the times in your life and enjoy your life with the available things. Your earning, if it is not allowing you to be with the family, there is no value in your earning.  Spiritual practice gives the courage to balance your mind between the hard and soft.  Work may be hard, but you should be soft with your family.  Hard earnings give soft side of your life.

‘NEVER LOSE FAITH IN YOURSELF”

 

O’ Master,

 

Behold the saving light dispelling darkness!

Let all mortals rise to-day and inherit their immortal state

Let all mortals, forsaking sleep of doubt; ascend with the glory of dawn.

 

We must have faith in ourselves, and we cannot have faith in ourselves without having faith in others.  We are all parts of that infinite one, and we cannot have faith in part more than another.  True religion does not allow a man to lift his hand or his thought or his heart against aught that lives.  Loving kindness is an attribute of genuine faith.  One cannot have faith in God and in humanity without being loving and having eager desires to love & serve.

 

Faith comes after experience.  Faith without any experience does not have any value.

Though everyone is a part of THAT, everyone is different from others.  Somebody is good and somebody is bad, but nobody is bad always.  When you create an inner love, this love gives tremendous faith in yourselves as well as in the goodness of others.  This is the genuine faith which makes yourself and others to live together.  Then you will have tremendous faith in God by seeing the loving kindness in others.  Spirituality brings together all the goodness in this universe and gives tremendous courage to live here loving others.

O Thou All-loving Father of the Universe,

I am thy child; my real nature is one with Thine

My spirit is eternally united with Thy Spirit

Mystic heart, rejoice!

This day thou art blessed

He for whom thou hast cried not sung

Yearned and waited for these many days, is come.

 

The principal work is to live the life. O this we must ever hear in mind.  We must do everything with peaceful and serene attitude.  In talking and walking, in dealing with people, at every hour we must carry balance in our mind.  We cannot have a peaceful mind unless it is fixed at a high point.  We must give it something loftier and greater in think about than the concerns of this ordinary outer life.  A man may appear meek and gentle, but if his mind is tranquil and controlled, he is tremendously powerful.  Even those in high places fear him, because he has a background of something invulnerable.

 

The impurities of our mind take away all our peace and tranquillity.  Once we connect ourselves with an advanced spiritual guide, we remove the strength of impurities in us and strengthen our positive qualities.  In NC, we internalise our beloved Master for the sake of removing all our impurities.  This removal clears our way towards peace and tranquillity.  Peaceful heart is the place for the Divine Master to live and He gets freedom to act on his own without anyone’s disturbance.  Through this divine peace, we can experience Him and His love.

May the Eternal One, who is the resting-place of all troubles souls,

May He free me from all disturbance of mind and distress of body

May He grant me power to carry His peace in my heart

“WE ATTAIN TRANQUILITY BY FINDING IT IN OUR OWN SOUL.”

I am stillness of the night,

Perfume of the flowers am I,

Majesty of the mountains am I

The quiet solitude of thy soul is my home

The peace of thy heart is my rest.

 

Tranquillity never means dullness or passivity.  Dullness and lethargy are great obstacles in the spiritual path; but when our heart is filled with high inspiration we are never heavy or dull.  We do not attain tranquillity through calculation or by any material means.  We attain it by finding tranquillity in our soul.  Stillness of heart is a great blessing.  When our outer life is still, it opens up new avenues for spiritual unfoldment. That is why the practice of silence is so helpful and beneficial.

 

Living in tranquillity is wonderful.  For attaining this condition, we need not search anywhere.  And nowhere it is available except from within.  When we dwell in our spirit or the soul, we live in tranquillity.  Transformation of mind, courage, mental strength, fearlessness and higher stages of spirituality can be obtained by this condition.  The moment we enter into this condition, we can confirm that our soul is expanding in our mind.  When the soul/ the God-within/spirit enters our mind for its expansion, it will take care of our life slowly and give all the positive qualities.

Let all darkness vanish from our path guided by you.

 

If we keep our mind free, clear and open, then there is no crisis in our life.  We must never leave our inner house in darkness; we must ever keep the light of consecration burning there.  Where there is Light, God comes and no sense-robbers can enter.  If we keep our life in harmony, evil will stay far from us.  Some people pray only when in trouble. Praying is not bad when we are not connected with Him within ourselves. But pray is not all required, when we get connected with the God within.

 

Spiritual training is to create the blankness of mind which is called Lightness.  This lightness is the base to establish Divinity in us.  Acquiring divinity should be our goal of life.  Divinity gives peace, courage, love, truth, wisdom and righteousness.  We can spread the divine light to others which is the representation of love.  All our dealings and actions should start with love and end with it.  In between, we should impart divine love experiencing our beloved Master with us.  He is the greatest Divine Light, and we the children share His light with others.

O Thou Infinite Divine Spirit,

Kindle my little lamp by Thy great Light that I may never walk in darkness

Wouldst thou pluck a flower in the budding?

Wouldst thou trample a newly planted seed?

Patient waiting and care bring them to ripening.

Our life’s unfinished work and unexpressed thoughts

All have their season of harvesting.

 

There is not one so humble or so placed in life that he cannot carry out his spiritual convictions through his life.  Every one of us can do it.  All that it requires is simplicity, sincerity and devotion to our highest Ideal.  Whether we believe in one thing or another makes very little difference.  The whole theme of life lies in following a practical Principle.

 

If we want to do all our transactions in a smoother way, we should have patience and courage.  Suppose we do this with love, we get patience and strength automatically.  Our spiritual qualities have to be imparted in the society and people should know the value of spiritual practice.  Love, patience, fearlessness, motivation are the few qualities we can find in spiritual persons.  These people can be easily identified with these qualities. Are we prepared ourselves to spread the Message of our beloved Master in public?  Can we try to reform the society?  Can we be with the Master in his endeavour?  Let us analyse ourselves where we are!

And lay them at the feet of That One who is my loving Father

May He lend me His tender protection

And lead me in the path of humility and unselfishness

“REMEMBER THAT COMPLETE SURRENDER ALONE MAKES AS CLEAR CHANNELS FOR THE ‘SUPREME’.

 

O’ Master,

 

Since Thou hast given me refuge and taken me into Thy safe-keeping, I have lost all fear.

My long night of anxious waking is forever ended.

I sit now with contentment in my heart;

I walk with free spirit,

And I sleep with surrender in my soul.

 

We need Divine guidance from within.  There are two wills, Supreme Master or God’s Will and self-will; both are active.  The foolish man chooses self-will; the wise man chooses the Supreme Master/God’s will, because he does not feel safe to be separated from his Master and His guidance.  This is wisdom, but this wisdom cannot be imposed.  Life has its culmination when we learn to have a true sense of God as the Supreme Doer.  When we acquire spiritual surrender, we raise above all our troubles.

 

The self-will is the will of our own samskaras and we cannot get rid of these unless otherwise we surrender to our Master. By surrendering everything to Him, we lose the power of our own samskaras and live happily without any worries.  When we start loving our beloved Master, we start experiencing receiving His energy.  Constant remembrance also can help us to receive His energy regularly.  But if we surrender totally to Him, we can only experience Him everywhere & wherever we live.  Our life will be protected automatically by Him without any conditions.  It becomes His moral duty to protect the people whosoever surrenders to Him.

 

Thoughts of the day:-

 

I am only an instrument in Thy Hands, O Lord,

Make me an efficient instrument;

Help me never to forget that Thou art behind me in every act

Take from me all egotism and self-importance

May I always be a humble instrument, wholly submissive to thy Will.

“WE MUST ALWAYS CARRY WITYH US HIGH AND LOFTY IDEALS”

My life’s lamp was dim and dying;

But Thou, unfailing Giver,

Dist fill it anew

With Thy fresh oil of life

Now it burns again with fervent, steady and luminous glow.

 

Every day we can keep the light burning within; but when the light is burning we must not become so elated that we cease to be watchful.  If we have something real and vital in our life, we cannot go astray.  So long as we live in the spiritual depths of our being we are safe.  When we live with an exalted spiritual Ideal constantly before us, our life will radiate power and the brightness of true joy.

 

When we devote ourselves towards spirituality, we spiritualise every thought and action.  We start spiritualising our material life with the experience of ‘Divine Spirit’ in all walks of our life.  This divine spirit in us gets activated and we lose the fear of existence and fear of death.  When we practice to live with our Divine Master, He gives all the courage and strength to accomplish the abovementioned Ideal.   Effective Spiritual Training is for cleaning internally and exhibit externally. Internal cleaning automatically happens when we surrender ourselves to our beloved Master and external life becomes perfect once our internal impurities are removed.

O Thou Eternal Light of the Universe,

Fill my life with Thy Divine radiance

Awaken in my heart the sense of Thy Holy Presence

Verily Thou art my life’s fulfilment;

The cause of my joy and sorrow, laughter and grief;

My soul’s sunshine and heart’s rain-cloud

 

When our life becomes empty, to fill this emptiness, we try to gather from outside.  Actually, this emptiness is in search of something but we are not clear.  This search continues until we reach a right guide to fulfil our emptiness.  We try to find something permanent and we seek it in the fleeting.  Consciousness of the presence of the Eternal Master within our heart & soul alone will bring us peace and enduring satisfaction.  There is no anarchy or accident in the cosmic universe.  There is no uneven distribution of favour and disfavour.  Only as we seek that which does not shift or change do we find our fulfilment.

 

We can gain everything materially by our regular effort and service.  But gaining internally to fulfil our quench, we require a personality who can satisfy our needs.  All the born spiritual persons feel emptiness in their heart from the beginning of their life in spite of everything available materially.  This is the real thirst towards achieving something.  Such persons somehow or other reach to a right spiritual training and gain spirituality.  If this thirst is not natural, we may have to create it by emptying our mind & heart and search for a personality.  If this is a true search, we naturally meet a guide of our choice who can fill up our emptiness in a natural way.  He can guide us through our own consciousness until we reach our goal of life.

Thou art the conscious Being abiding in the hearts of all conscious beings

Do Thou fill my heart with a living sense of consecration to Thee

“WE DEEPEN OUR MISFORTUNES BY DWELLING ON THEM”

I worship Thee in blankness

In Thy unfathomed glory the atom of my life is magnified

In this unfolded vision my soul is expanded;

And knowing how my finite life is contained in Thine Infinite Majesty,

My soul is at peace.

 

We must not throw away our light.  If we are carrying a lantern, we do not throw it away when we come across a well-lighted place, because we think we may need it again. Similarly when our mind is bright, we must hold on to that brightness.  We must hold to the light of such moments that they may sustain us in the dark hours.

 

Spiritual path is full of light and clarity.  In this spiritual path, we must be guided properly by a guide of calibre with sufficient light in Him.  Our own dim light is attracted by the Divine Light of the guide and brightens automatically with the nearness of Him.  Misfortunes are darkside of our life and we should not think of it.  When our inner light is brightened with the help of a Great Light, all our misfortunes vanish without even telling us.  When this magnificent experience happens in our life, we understand the power of our beloved Master and His divine Love.  We cannot forget Him and we desire to live with Him for ever.

O Thou Infinite Being, but my beloved,

Thou art the goal of my existence,

Thou art my one safe Guide; my one safe Shelter

Nothing can overwhelm me as long as I depend wholly on Thy care

“THOSE WHO ARE CAREFUL IN LITTLE THINGS, NOTHING CAN THWART THEM.”

When the Fire of Truth burns in the heart,

It purifies the heart

When its spark comes out of the tongue,

It is vibrant with light

Lo, it falls upon the ear that is not closed to the subtle, spiritual sound like far-distant music

Rousing the soul to a new world.

 

Unless we have true vision and are watchful, when difficulties come, we shall not be able to meet them.  We must safeguard ourselves by acquiring wisdom. Wisdom is abiding and always sustains.  Even our mistakes are not evil, we learn as much through our mistakes as through our good deeds.  But when we have learned, we must be careful not to repeat them.

 

Carelessness is a passion of human being and he likes it.  He does not know that it can lead to peril.  Once we acquire wisdom, we perish this carelessness.  Wisdom has to come within and not from outside.  The knowledge we get from outside could not succeed in getting rid of this weakness.  When we connect to a spiritual guide, He takes care of us spiritually and as well corrects us in our mistakes.  If we are able to fully accept our guide, the beloved Master of NC, we never comment on Him in finding the mistakes on us.  Our inner light will be brightened with His presence and wisdom descends in us automatically. We will become careful in all our activities, whether it is small or big.

All-pervading Spirit of the Universe,

Help me to find my union with Thy Infinitude

From Thee alone do I draw strength and life.

By Thy light alone can I kindle my little light

Contact with Thy Being alone can cleanse my impurities

“WHEN THE WORLD DISTRACTS US AND MAKES US FORGET THE SUPREME MASTER, THAT IS THE GREATEST MISFORTUNE”

Season of blossoming is the time of love

Heart of the bud bursts with the fullness of its love

The flower speaketh its inmost heart by giving us its fragrance

Let thy heart, like the flower, blossom with love

And give to the world peace perpetual and abiding joy.

 

When we forget our complex nature and relate ourselves wholly to the Supreme Master, a sense of peace and rest falls upon us.  Outside darkness and distress cannot count for us if we have inward light; and the inward light comes through our knowledge of the Supreme Master.  This knowledge can be gained only when the heart is humble receptive and turned towards Him.

 

Remembering & forgetting are the two physic process of human mind.  In this process, we may have to forget many things in our life and many things have to be remembered.  Some remembrance gives us peace, relaxation and joy.  But some takes us to depression, anxiety and negative thinking.  Is there anything to remember which can give something beyond joy and relaxation?  Yes, remember Him who loves all and everyone in this universe.  That remembrance cannot give you any tension and anxiety but something beyond happiness.  Remember our beloved Master and by his remembrance we forget ourselves and our worries.  Once you practice this constant remembrance, you cannot be away from Him and you feel forgetting Him is a greatest misfortune.

Torch of faith He will thee, and a staff of Endurance

When thou art thus equipped and set on this mystic road,

The hidden will be disclosed before the torch of Faith;

All darkness and dangers will cease to be.

 

One type of person begins the day reluctantly; another type rises up with vitality, with a song in his heart, joyful that a new dawn has come.  We must approach the day thoughtfully, since what we do in the early morning fixes the temperature for the hours which follow.  We must not waste our time in idle talking and laughing.  Exuberance is good, but too much of it disturbs the balance.  We can be joyous without losing our equilibrium.  The whole day will be in rhythm when we begin it with peaceful, tranquil mind.

 

Many a times, we start our day with anxiety and fear, because of interviews, examinations or something relating to achievement.  We may have to get motivated every time to face such situations.  If the motivation is not strong, we get depressed and sometimes lead to failure.

But when you start your day with the remembrance of our Master, you get motivated automatically and get prepared for everything.  Your worries and anxiety vanish within no time.  You can determine the day as yours.  Everyday becomes good day to you irrespective of success or failure.

May the Giver of all peace and blessing make this day peaceful and wholly consecrated to Him.

May His presence sustain me at every hour.

Thou art the root of this life-plant

Not knowing the secret of its being

It lifted its head to the light

Spreading its limbs in space

As if eager for flight

But earth held it firm to its root

While sun, rain and air,

By their unfailing care,

Brought it to ripening

 

We must make our life deep-rooted in God.  When it is thus rooted, we can walk through life with smiling heart.  The whole world is full of the Spirit of god.  Sometimes we close our doors and nothing can penetrate.  Our heart becomes barren and dry.  Self-consciousness dries it up and attaches it to the finite.  Everything becomes parched within us.  Only as we open the door to the Divine, can we taste the sweetness of Divine joy.

 

To taste the divine joy, we may have to give up our self ego and esteem.  Once we permanently connect with our divine Master, we start receiving this condition of divine joy.

Divine joy confirms the entry of our Master in our heart.  He enters in us and starts cleaning the unwanted negative thoughts.  When we cooperate with Him in negating ourselves, His expansion starts. His expansion in our heart not only gives us a different joy of being with Him and can create vacuum which is the base for spiritual expansion.

Courage, hope and cheer, let these three accompany you in your journey;- courage that is born of inner conviction and knows no fear, courage that is born of knowledge that we are heir to the Divine Master.  That Supreme Master is ever free from the intoxication of material aggressiveness.  Dauntlessness in all circumstances through selfless devotion to an Ideal is its attribute.

 

Spiritual practice is for gaining courage, truthfulness and righteous way of life.  This spiritual practice should be under the guidelines of a Master of calibre, who dares not to perform ‘Dharmik’ actions at all times.  We need a guide to motivate us during the time of depression and anxiety.  Everybody has to undergo bad times depending upon their samskaras.  While undergoing the fruits of samskaras, we lose courage, hopes and sometimes tempt to commit something wrong.  We badly want a Master during these dark times to lift us from this bad situation.  Our NC Master is capable of doing all these with His divine love and purity.  Once we get such a Master in our life, we need not worry about anything but enhance our capacities with His help.

When Thou art near, I feel strong

And darkness enshrouds my heart

 

We are confronted by the problems of life and we seek consolation and help from some outside source; but wise men find these in the inner realm.  They retire within themselves.  This outer material life becomes much more beautiful, it acquires new grandeur, when it is connected with the inner spiritual life.  The drudgery we too often feel arisen because these two spheres of living are unrelated.  We escape from this sense of drudgery by uniting the inner and outer.  We do this through faith.

 

When we are totally indulged in our day-to-day material life, we tend to forget our source or origin.  The main purpose of connecting with a spiritual guide is to remember our source.  When we internalise our beloved Master, we get connected with the source.  Because He is the person who is connected with the source all the times.  Our spiritual life really depends upon the way we connect with our Divine Master.  The more we internalise Him, we experience our inner connection with something.  This something later on appears to be nothing or vacuum.  Once we start feeling this vacuum is inside and controls us in all our activities, we can confirm that we are fully connected with the source.

Didst thou not come naked from thy mother’s womb?

Didst thou not have thy soul in safety even before thy body’s birth?

Why are thou then fretful and anxious?

One who watched over thee then,

Watches over thee now;

One who loved thee then, loves thee now,

My mind remembers this and be still.

 

Those who have noble aspiration in their heart not only seek light, they radiate light.  The work we have to do is to remove the obstructions, as we clean our windows to let the light come into our house.  They way to overcome fear and sorrow is by thinking on that One that is above all sorrow and fear.  The way to conquer weakness is to think on that One who is infinite strength.  The way to overcome littleness is to think on the great Immensity.

 

Of course, spirituality is not only to gain the light and strength to the practitioner but also to others.  When we depend on our beloved Master for our every action, we tend to surrender to Him without our knowledge.  This dependence on the Master gives more strength and courage to face the life.  This surrender leads to internalisation of the Divine Master and His essence.  This essence is compared to light which removes the dark-side of the practitioner’s mind. Essence of the Master starts radiating from the practitioner at a later stage. It also evacuates the feeling of ‘I’ detaching from the unwanted attachment and attaching with the Divine Master, spiritualising the practitioner’s entire material life.

O Thou Compassionate Spirit, bestow upon me Thy abiding protection.

Grant that I may acquire strength of mind and fearless of heart

When you lose yourself, you gain poise, tranquillity and steadiness.  When outer happiness comes, you must not be too elated.  You must stand as a witness on guard that you do not forget and let yourself is carried away by the temptations and distractions of the material world.  There is a higher state of calmness and security that no amount of calculation and planning can give.  It comes through connection with the Source of all peace.

 

Whenever problems arise, we should try to detach from it and become an observer.  This observation from inside as an outsider for the problem gives you the courage and strength to solve the problem.  The moment you think that the problem is yours, you lose the capacity to solve it.  You may require somebody to motivate you to solve the problem, because the problem is not belonging to the motivator.  By connecting ourselves to the beloved Divine Master, we feel the problem is His and not mine.  The energy drawn by you from the Master gives the strength and courage to think for a solution to the problem.  Likewise the thoughts that we receive in our mind should be observed as an observer or witness (manasakshi) by losing ourselves from the scenario.

O Thou Infinite Being, may my vision never become one-sided or distorted

Joyousness characterizes all great souls.  Man is constantly looking up. He is never reaching out for something higher.  He is full of unrest.  He feels iintuitively that nothing but the higher can make him happy.  Happiness requires a great deal more than material things.  We all find this out sooner or later.  We must come in contact with the highest and holiest, and we must have willingness to receive.  Our inner being must be made fertile soil, and then our life becomes fruitful and joyous.

 

If you look into human being’s life, he is always searching for peace from the beginning. This search continues as long as he is unable to connect with a higher source or personality.  Once human being is succeeded in finding out a personality to whom he can depend upon, he can connect himself for a higher source.  In NC, we have our divine Master, who can give us this connection within this life.  This connection assures peace, tranquillity, courage, strength etc. to the practitioner. The practitioner can forget fear and depressions forever.

O Thou heavenly smile of strength and cheer

The spiritual practice must awaken in us a sense of joy.  It teaches us to carry a light with us everywhere.  How wonderful it would be if every one would carry his own light! How beautiful life would be if each one would shed the light of joy into the world! In vain we seek this joy without; it is only to be found within.  A person who has this light sheds blessing everywhere.  He sees all things in the pure light of Truth and people come to him eagerly for help.

 

Carrying this pure light is the real prestige for a human being.  This inner light gives us enormous joy and peace.  When we start spreading this light to others, they also start getting this condition.  This divine light is not only giving us peace and tranquillity but also removing the darkness in our mind.  NC spiritual practice is to give this light in each and every practitioner so that he can live happily and give happiness to others.  If the practitioner is able to draw this Divine Light from the Master, he can retain it in him forever.  Every human being can attain this light through love, sincerity, truth, faithfulness etc.  This divine light is the representation of positive qualities with positive approach.

I sing the song of life,

With the smile of the sun and the dance of the twilight,

I float in the sky in rhythm,

With free spirit and joyous heart.

 

Rhythm means balance.  We protect ourselves by balance and poise.  If a person comes with evil tongue or intent and you are quiet and dignified, the person becomes ashamed very soon.  He is silenced and powerless to hurt.  Without saying anything you put a check on him.  As we gain in calmness and serenity, we become charged with higher power.  We must always maintain balance and spiritual sanctity.

 

When we practice spirituality, we attain purity and courage.  This purity can help us in balancing our life.  It has tremendous strength to protect us from evil elements.  No one can attack us through their evil power.  Evil minded people automatically keep distance from us.

This protection is given by our beloved Master through His inner ‘chaitanya’, who is within us always.  The more we love Him; he stays in our heart giving connection to the Higher Power.  When He is with us, there cannot be a question of fear of present & future.  Let us try to retain Him in our heart forever so that He cannot be separated from us at any time.

We do our best work when we have least concern for our good fortune or ill fortune.  All pain and hardship come from selfishness and lack of love.  We create the web of self that binds us. We cannot love without bringing greater love and joy into our own life.  Love is always a miracle.  It breaks down all barriers.  It is not by harshness that we can subdue harshness.  It is by manifesting that which will make others feel the gentle, tender Power abiding in our heart.

 

Human beings have their own limitations in loving others.  When we attain Divine Love through a vibrant spiritual practice, we lose the discrimination in loving.  When our divine Master is able to love everyone in this universe, why cannot we do the same by bringing Him inside us?  When we succeed in bringing our beloved Master into our heart, we automatically attain this Divine Love and lose our selfishness without our knowledge.  Our approach, behaviour, communication and character will change gradually leading us to become a positive personality.

‘Surrendering mentally all actions to Me, regarding Me as the highest goal, resorting to Self-knowledge, do thou ever fix thy heart on Me.  Fixing thy heart on Me, thou shalt, by My grace, overcome all obstacles, but if, through egoism, thou wilt not hear Me, thou shalt perish’……..  Bhagavad-Gita

 

People who are in rhythm are full of mellowness; their voice is sweet.  People who are unrhythmic, their voice is harsh and their life discordant.  When you establish your life in rhythm you do the right thing spontaneously.  It is the way of wisdom to tune ourselves and bring ourselves into rhythm- our whole body, our mind, our heart, that they may all beat in unison, nothing is impossible to us if we hold the right attitude of mind.

 

Spiritual practice is to bring a rhythmic life throughout.  When we are attacked by our own negative qualities like, desire, prejudice, anger, luxury etc. we cannot turn towards the Truth.  We are egoistic because of these negative practices practised by us.  It is very difficult for an ordinary man to get rid of these things from our life.  We lose rhythm in our life and suffer always.  If we are able to fix our heart towards a Higher Power, we draw purity and our life gets balanced automatically.  In NC, we have our beloved Master through whom we can attain peace and tranquillity.  His love is enormous and it is more than sufficient to attain rhythm in our life.  All our obstacles will vanish with His help, who is the embodiment of Love.  Our goal must be only to attain Him in our heart.  Rest is His responsibility.  Surrendering is the best way to attain Him.

I lift my thoughts and prayers to the Supreme Being of the Universe;

May He make my heart free from all unworthy and alien thoughts,

A wise man should control speech by mind, mind by intellect, intellect by the great Self, and that by the Peaceful One (The Supreme Self)…….   Katha-Upanishad.

 

 

When a man is out of rhythm, whatever he undertakes cannot be in harmony with the universe.  We can make ourselves rhythmic by going deeper and finding a point of contact with the inner Source of life.  If we do everything with harmonious, sympathetic spirit, then we shall never fail to be in rhythm.  It is a blessed privilege to be connected with the Lord’s great human family and to serve it faithfully.  We all possess the power of higher service.  When we serve in true spirit, the seed of spiritual fruition is sown and we are bound to reap a rich harvest.  The truest service is inward and consists in keeping ourselves in harmony with God’s plan for our life.

 

When we prepare ourselves to surrender to our beloved Master, it never happens.  Surrender happens only once and without our knowledge. Afterwards, our ‘I’ lose the strength to work. At the same time His power starts working in us taking us to a higher valued life.   The inner power gets strengthened and intellect descends to help us in our life.  All our desires vanish and His desires start functioning in us.  Our future will be in the hands of our Master. He becomes everything for us.  This is a wonderful condition.  For attaining this, we have to internalise Him without any conditions.  It is possible through love and love only can bring Him inside us.

Playmate of my soul, once Thou didst teach me a dance

And we both clapped our hands with a joyous song in our hearts

Today my whole life floats in its rhythm

And my body sways with its beat.

 

Sanctity never enters into a lazy life.  If the mind becomes saturated with worldly thoughts and feelings it grows dense, heavy, and unresponsive.  Even in the hour of devotion, our spiritual aspiration, when we try to awaken it, does not respond, of our mind is dull and heavy.  But this does not happen with people who live carefully and thoughtfully with a divine thinking.  They do not slacken in their ardour.  They do not leave their spiritual practice for the last moment.  All through the day in everything they do, they are preparing themselves.  When we do this, even our ordinary tasks can be full of lofty inspiration.

 

When we internalise our Divine Master, He stays in our heart permanently.  He takes care of our thoughts and actions.  This internalisation is the power of attorney given to Him to do whatever He wants to do.  We will be so detached in all our thoughts and actions, but become an observer to observe His play in me.  He has neither tire out nor any exhaustion.  Taking rest will be limited.  We can experience His love always inside.  He motivates us in all our positive work and discourages in our negative thinking and action.  His availability can be experienced through blankness of mind.  There cannot be any fear when He is in us.

‘DIFFERENCES ARE WIPED OUT WHEN WE HAVE DIRECT ILLUMINATION’.

 

O’ Master,

 

I see naught else buy Thee;

I feel naught else but Thee;

Ii crave no other knowledge.

I only know that Thou art mine,

And I am for ever Thine.

 

Universal vision gives us a conception of  Divine being.  Through universal vision we approach nearer and nearer to the Supreme.  We cannot have freedom of life, if we have any crookedness or narrowness in our thought or habit.  We cannot have access to God without sincerity and directness.  Only absolute dependence and absolute trust-such trust as a child has in his mother-will enable us to establish a living relationship with Godhead.

 

It is very difficult to have trust in God, since we have not seen or experienced Him.  Thereby we personify Him in an idol, photograph or some other material.  If the personified body is a Jadavastu, without life, it cannot response to our love.  Thereby learned ones select a personality to love who has the Godliness & an embodiment of love, (embodiment of love is possible, if there is a mind to love and communicate).  When we connect ourselves with this Divine Personality, His power of transmission illuminates our heart with tremendous love.

This power wipes out all our impressions, unwanted thoughts and ‘Hridaya Bhara’.

May the All-embracing Spirit of the Universe waken in my soul a sense of His Presence

May that living Presence fill my whole being

May it kindle in me a new fire of love and sympathy for all men

May I express that love in all words and actions

“JOY IS IN THE UNBOUNDED”

 

O’ Master,

 

The blessing of Thy Love, like a heavy shower, fell upon me unaware,

It washed me of all dross clean and free

In this freshness of bareness my soul is happy,

For it hath found the Hidden

And hath attained the Unattainable!

 

Man cannot come in contact with God without experiencing peace and feeling happiness.  When the soul is truly awakened, it expands and expresses itself in blissfulness.  Such a one refuses to recognize anything but the voice of God through his beloved Master.  He refuses to see anything other than God’s will working through all.  He sees the whole world as the manifestation of Divine joy.  When there is a Divine joy and peace in your soul, the Supreme will always protect you, cheer you, give you strength and fill your heart with bliss.

 

Divine joy is different from ordinary happiness.  This joy gives you a tremendous strength and courage to keep your mind in tranquillity on all occasions.  Wavering of mind reduces and decision can be taken within a short time.  This condition does not allow the practitioner to mingle with negative people or allow being with negative attitudes.  You will have positive friends and society.  Nobody can shake you from the bliss of Divine.  Nobody can punish you because you are with Divine. Cause for this divine bless is the presence of Divine Master in you.  This bless cannot be destroyed but transferred through love.  This is equivalent to light which spreads everywhere wherever it is allowed to spread.

May the Divine Master of the universe flood my heart with pure love and holy joy

That I may at all times be worthy to live close to His divine Heart

Through the day may I seek refreshment at His holy Feet

And depend always on His tender care and protection.

Oh, how my soul delights in this total self oblivion!

 

We hold the key to happiness in our own hand.  Whenever we desire, we can open the door and enter into the storehouse of joy, inspiration and strength.  Our thought can make us unhappy, or it can expand our whole life and fill it with radiant joy.  The one who brings a real picture of joy and exuberance is a true benefactor.  It shows that he has found access to the realm of happiness.  When we cease to run after passing things and seek within, we never fail to find joy. Then whatever we touch, it blossoms.

 

Happiness is a state of mind.  It can be produced within without any material.  But we get happiness only when we receive some material, seeing it, possessing it and sometimes looting it. When we start searching our inner Power or God-within, during our course of life, we naturally get a happiness which is different from material happiness.  It becomes very easy when we connect ourselves with our beloved Master, who can give us only peace, love and happiness.

If the spirituality training does not give happiness to the practitioner, the practice does not take him to the ultimate.  Spiritual training is not for undergoing sufferings and unhappiness.  We can be happy always with our beloved Master.

O Compassionate friend, Thou who abidest within me as peace and bliss,

O Thou unasked, unceasing Giver,

Thy bounty runs through my life to overflowing

Yea, tender Lord; by Thy magic charm Thou hast driven away all my past wretchedness.

 

Melancholy thoughts are a great detriment to our health and to our happiness.  All our successes and failures, our pleasures and pains, come and go.  They are not lasting.  Why should we take them so seriously and make ourselves miserable?  The sun is a great symbol and what is it a symbol of?

A symbol of light and joy.  It teaches us that we must find avenues through which the light of the soul may flood our whole being and fill it with radiance.  We can kindle this light only when we establish our contact with a Higher Power that will shield us and radiate through us.

 

Everyone knows that depression creates lot of trouble in our life including our health.  Still we are not in a position to thwart it.  If we start treating every failure with stress and tension, we cannot succeed after a failure.  Facing a failure is an inner capacity.  Once you connect yourselves with our Divine Master, you never experience failure but learn a lesson from that.  Success is not the life.  If anyone depends upon only success, his life is going to be miserable, because failures cannot be avoided during one’s life.  Spirituality training is to give you courage and strength to balance both failures and successes.   Our beloved Master never wants anyone to be sad and depressed, because He is ready to transmit peace, courage, love, truth, wisdom and ultimately the power of bliss to face anything in this life.  You can be happy wherever you are with your ‘My Master’.

May the Divine Presence within me quicken my soul with new understanding

May It kindle in my heart a new fervor of joy

And may the light of that joy drive away all darkness and gloom

Great Liberator, deliver us from the bondage of self;

Thou alone canst draw our hearts away from its hypnotic spell

 

When you find yourself brooding over self, turn your thought elsewhere.  How much we need the Divine Blessing! How much we need to think on the Ideal! We need to safeguard ourselves.  Life never runs with perfect smoothness, so we need to place ourselves under higher protection. The whole spiritual life is based on unselfishness, in being and becoming something other than the little self.  Living devotion to an Ideal alone will make us selfless.  Contact with a spiritual Ideal always fortifies us and brings us a saving sense of consecration.

 

The main enemy for the inner consciousness is our ‘I’ and ‘Iness’.  Forgetting our ‘I’ is very difficult, since we live today only with the help of our ‘I’, though it is imaginary.  When we connect ourselves to a Divine Personality, with selfless ideal, His power of love and purity penetrates in us to remove unwanted thoughts about ourselves.  If give our heart to a selfish person, we also become selfish.  Spiritual elevation can happen only when we connect our self with a selfless personality, who does not have any personal gain.  Ultimately we have to surrender everything to Him who can create forgetfulness in us to forget ourselves.

 

Thoughts of the day:-

 

May I transcend all self-limitation, pride and egotism;

May I be so humble and pure-hearted that the light of Truth will shine steadily

And shed its radiance through my whole being

Live and love!

Love and live!

Where love reigns death can never be.

Love is mother of both joy and peace;

From that heart where love always lives peace and joy will never part.

 

We must have a focusing point.  Light is every where, but we must focus it to use it.  Similarly we must focus our spiritual thought, and we do this by serving our Ideal or Divine Master.  A sense of worship and reverence is a very wonderful thing in this world.  People who are cold, hard and aggressive miss a great deal.

 

One of the best human qualities is “Giving”.  This giving creates energy all the times.  The more you give the more you are producing the energy called “Dharma” otherwise called duty.  It is called Manava Dharma. The moment we expect something for our giving, we tend to lose the energy that we are going to deposit as ‘dharma’.  This dharma energy will protect you whenever you are in distress.  If the transaction is over by a return for your giving, this energy cannot be deposited.  What you give through your left hand, your right hand need not know.  Your giving and contributions need not be propagated to anyone.  It is automatically recorded.  By serving our Divine Master, without any conditions and expectation, we accumulate divine energy which will help in turn automatically whenever we are in need of without any prayer or asking.

All-merciful Master, may I learn to serve Thee with my whole heart,

May every act of my life be an act of love & worship

May my mind be fixed on the inward vision of Thy nearness

And find peace and quietude in Thy Presence

We cannot think of two opposite things at the same time.  A man cannot think of God and at the same time keep his mind on his little self.  Being devoted and whole-hearted in service to the Divine Master, we realize the essence of all ideals.  As we gain more understanding, the unfoldment of our higher nature takes place of itself  then trust and surrender will come naturally to us and there is will arise in us a sense of peace and quietude.

 

Most of the time, we work for our self and not for His Self.  We seldom get time to work for Him, inspite of knowing that He is the ultimate decision maker for everything.  When we do the work, why do not we think that we are doing for Him and not for us? All the thoughts and actions during any work can be devoted to Him.  When we think that He is available in everything, all the work that we do is only for Him.  When your entire life is devoted to His service, there is no place for your ‘self’.

When the work done by the body, brain & mind, you think that you are doing.  Just change your thinking that this body, brain and mind belong to Him and as such He is doing everything.  This perception itself will excel your spiritual condition.

May the all-abiding Master dwelling within me

Make me a ready instrument in His Hand

May He free me from all egotistic sense

And teach me to be wholly dependent on His will

May I forget all selfishness and limitation

And partake of His Divinity.

Once this heart of mine was barren like yon desert

Lacking in grace and lacking in life;

Till the stream of love made it fertile

It was full of waste and unlovely land

The stream of love hath transformed my barren grounds

To a flower garden and a fruit orchard.

 

Pray to the Divine Master to make you unflinching in your spiritual life. Pray to Him to rouse greater love for Him in your heart and free you from all pride, ambition and vanity.  Honour, praise and recognition can be great drawbacks for the soul; they awaken the subtle ego and prevent spiritual progress.  Pray to the Divine Master always to protect you from such dangers.  Always try to glorify Him by your life.

 

Devotion is the produce of Divine.  When the motion or evolution of the soul starts with the help of Divine is called devotion. This devotion along with love leads to spiritual progress.  Emotional devotion, like praising, glorifying by repeating the names cannot help in spirituality.  Here we require spiritual devotion which helps us to reach the Ultimate.  When someone is devoting his mind in remembering the Master, he is devoted to Master.  This devotional remembrance brings the divine energy of our beloved Master, to help us in our day to day life.  It also helps to internalize Him to create our ‘My Master’ in us.  For any work we require devotion, other the work cannot be pure.

We should bring the Master through devotion and keep Him in our heart always.  Devotion cannot be practiced by the people who have pride, highest ambition, self esteem etc.

 

Thoughts of the day:-

 

May the Divine Master accept my offering of prayer and devotion

May I gain light and a larger love through my daily silentation

May I grow strong in thinking on His infinite Strength & courage

May I grow tender and loving in thinking on His infinite Love

Beauty in the rose draws my heart;

Beauty of face and beauty of sight

Awaken in my soul love and ever greater love.

 

When you find others harsh and irritating, it is because you have those feelings in yourself,.  When there is only love and gentleness in your heart, the harshness of others does not touch you.  Unselfishness is a very real thing, but it is something that cannot be defined.  You lift yourself to a higher point and become unselfish when you serve Him and His children with true consecration and devotion.  When the light of love shines in your heart, it charges you with power to do the right act and speak the right word.  You work and your love & devotion become acceptable to Him.

 

When Master is accepting someone, it is purely because of the love & kindness available within him.

We have practice love and kindness in our life.  We must kind to the people, who failed, who could not succeed inspite of their effort and trial.  Love is really in demand for the people who are in distress and trouble.  When we are not able to understand the problems of others, we cannot be empathic.  Love is the base for creating empathy and kindness is for service.  Love & kindness will bring empathy and service together.  Self-less service is called divine Service.  This service requires both the above qualities.  It is very easy to attract our beloved Master through our kindness & love to others.

O’ Master, take from me all harshness and unkindness

And release me from all that binds me to my little self

Help me to love and serve truly all Thy children

“TRUE DEVOTEES ARE THOSE WHO NEVER FORGET THEIR DIVINE SOURCE”

 

O’ Master,

 

When thou hast naught, thou hast all

When thou art naught, thou art all.

 

Be an ideal devotee, an ideal disciple.  Never forget that your indebtedness to Him is incalculable. You can never do enough for Him and His children.  To please Him by your life is the greatest thing that you can do.  To displease Him by thought, word or action is your greatest misfortune.  Nothing is more vital than to have the habit of constant mindfulness of your Master.  You cannot afford to lose consciousness of that for one moment. Let your heart rest unceasingly in the thought of Him.

 

Most of us have really forgotten our divine source.  And nobody reminded us about it.  We require a guide for it.  It is His duty to remind us about the source.  What is this source?  This source is called the Ultimate or God.  When we connect ourselves with our beloved Master, we get connected with the divine source available in Him.  This source is available within us also.  But we get reminded only when we connect to the divine source of a divine personality.   As long as our beloved Master is in our heart, we get connected with the Divine source.  Life of ‘mine’ should be converted as His Life or otherwise called Life of the Divine Source.  True service to the Master becomes easily possible when we connect with our Divine Master.  Once we start experiencing His love, we cannot forget or live Him.

 

Thoughts of the day:-

 

O’ Master, fill my heart with such pure love and devotion that there will be room for naught else

Grant that I may be a worthy part of Thy Infinitude

And learn to love and serve all Thy children worthily

“DEVOTIONAL DISCIPLINE IS A THING THAT WE FEEL INWARDLY.  IT IS ALSO A GREAT POWER”

Thy flame of love touched my garment

I was startled and affrighted lest all my possessions and cherished hopes be burned to nothingness

I fled for fear of life, but thy unquenchable fire ever followed me

With troubled heart and misgiving I opened my eyes only to find

That Thy bright and blazing flame was not of destruction

It burned, yet destroyed it naught.

 

There is nothing more potent than the heart of a pure, simple aspiring devotee.  His prayers are potent because he does not pray for himself. They are answered because there is no selfishness or impurity in them.  He can forget himself because he has something better to think of than himself.  All doubt, skepticism and struggle give way before the light of the Spirit.  An absolute freedom is descended on him to do self-less service.  He will be tuned to do better social service.

 

Physical discipline is possible when we think of our physique.  But inner discipline or devotional discipline is a must for spiritual progress.  Unless otherwise we discipline within ourselves, we cannot serve selflessly.   This discipline is required to lose selfishness in us.  We become a real disciple of our Master, when we follow Him absolutely losing our selfishness.  Following a personality of divine give us tremendous courage, strength and ability to love others.  Devotional discipline is the thing when we devotedly follow our beloved Master.  Without discipline nothing is possible to achieve fully.  Follow Him and forget everything.

O Thou who art the Protector of all, protect me from my lower self,

Purify my heart and increase my devotion

Take from me all discordant, selfish feelings;

And make me worthy to retain the blessings

I seek freedom no more

Henceforth I am Thy captive

To Thee I surrender my all!

 

Disciples are those who go direct to His Heart.  They say; ‘I want to know Him, I want to feel Him, I want to commune with Him, I want to become one with Him”. To know Him vividly is to plunge into Him in silence.  There is no time especially suited for this.  At all times we can connect Him.  In every hour of our life we can have a sense of consecration.

 

Where there is no Love, there is no divinity.  How an artist is attracted towards art or with another artist, Master is also attracted towards love and his loved ones.  Real disciple always follows his Master without questioning Him and without any doubt.  When he follows, he automatically draws His Master’s attention.  When he follows with an unconditioned love, He gets attracted towards him.  No-one can stop His love towards His disciple.  His love is unlimited and we must be prepared to receive His divine energy fully without any pilferage.  This divine transmission from Him is full of divine love and we can experience once we lose ourselves inside.  When our love increases towards Him, at one stage, we start emitting this energy of love towards outside.  Later we transmit to anyone who comes in front of us.

O Thou Eternal Master, unveil Thyself to me,

That I may find my peace and rest at Thy blessed Feet

Thou art the Giver of all good things

“SELFLESS DEVOTION UNLOCKS THE HIDDEN DOOR OF THE INNER MOST SHRINE”

 

O’ Master,

 

Prepare for His coming;

Weave a garland for the Beloved

Gathering all the sweet flowers from thy inner garden

Hast thou not raised these cherished blossoms to please Him?

They are fragrant with thy love!

Lover, in excess of longing forget not the garland.

 

There is an outpouring of the soul, and in that outpouring there is a language strange to outer ears, but there are moments when this strange note brings great solace.  We may utter beautiful prayers, but unless we are tuned in the same rhythm, they will have no power.  Our heart will remain cold and unmoved.  There is great strength in prayerful devotion. When the yearning soul prays with yearning voice from the depths of the heart, it cannot fail to reach the Divine Master and bring rich blessing.

 

When you pray Him with unconditioned love, He replies to you through His action.  He is your father and you can say anything to Him through your inner mind’s voice.    The more you are open to Him, He helps without any condition.  Actually you need not say anything to Him to get His help.  It comes naturally when you keep Him in your heart always.  It does not mean that you cannot pray.  You can pray as much as you want.  Praying is your absolute right.  Helping is His unilateral right.  Praying Him without love is not going to help.  You have to bring His love in you ultimately.  Then your work and practice is over.  He seldom goes away from the persons who become His beloveds.  It becomes His moral duty to protect the one who cannot live without Him.

O Thou Holy One, make me so pure and untouched by the world,

That I shall be worthy to enter Thy Divine sanctuary and lay my love and devotion at Thy blessed Feet

May my life be as a fragrant flower, offering its sweetness unceasingly to Thee.

Learn gentleness of speech, of step-gentleness in all your motions.  Those who are in a higher state of evolution have great lightness in their touch and in their movements, in all they do.  The tendency to be destructive, to overturn and to break indicates a wrong state of mind. When we move in perfect rhythm, we never destroy or hurt anything.   Gentle manner and a sweet voice disarm all hatred and harshness.  When we resist and assert ourselves, our action has no power other than to awaken a like spirit of resistance.  Gentleness alone will overcome condemnation and anger.

 

Our ego sometimes does not allow us to be gentle with all the people.  Love and kindness are the basic qualities of human beings.  We use it according to our needs and not always. All the positive qualities are belonging to your God-within.   You cannot use the way you want.  It must be freely used in all circumstances.  You can show harshness outside in certain situations, but at the same time practice kindness inside.  When you procure all the good qualities of a human being, you become very near to your Master.  Or otherwise, bring Him inside at the earliest; you will procure all the good qualities.

Dedicate yourself for the Master; serve him mentally, physically, spiritually and materially.  Remember Him constantly, until you make Him stay permanently in your heart.

May I never wound or injure any living thing

May self-interest never dominate my actions

Make me gentle and kindly in all my dealings with my fellow-men.

“OUR PRAYERS ARE MORE EFFECTIVE AND BEAUTIFUL WHEN WE CARRY HOLY THOUGHTS IN OUR MIND AT OTHER TIMES”

 

O’ Master,

 

In my prayer I knew not what to ask of Thee,

For my mind was rent with many desires,

And my heart was torn with longing,

So I could not pray with a single heart;

But a sudden dawning hath come upon me with a lightning flash

Now I sit with but one prayer in my heart;

That thou fillest us with Thy love first and last

Only this I ask with all my heart and soul.

 

So long as there is much noise on the outer plane, we cannot hear the voice of the subtler spiritual plane; nor can we hope to gain access into the higher realm.  When day after day we strive to cultivate the consciousness of our inner being, our prayers grow more fervent and God hears our least call; but our heart must be one-pointed and we must feel that our being is a part of His Being.

 

Prayer always must be single pointed.  Any diversion affects the concentration.  Concentration gives power to the prayer by eliminating all other thoughts.  If the prayer is to attain Him, it will be answered.  Our beloved Master always reacts to the prayer of His beloved, at the time of distress.

When you feel that you are away from Him, you can pray until you experience Him inside.  Once He comes inside, there need not be any prayer.  He takes care of your life without your asking.  Every prayer that you do is to get Him inside and not for any other things.  You have to decide whether you want Him or your desires to be fulfilled?  There is no guarantee that all your desires are going to be fulfilled.  But when He comes inside you, most of your desires will be vanished and you will remain with your needs.  These needs will be automatically attended to.

 

Thoughts of the day:-

 

Make me humble and free from self-consciousness

That my life may be filled with holy inspiration

May I learn to be refreshed through the sanctity of my thought

Thou alone canst sanctify my life

Make it holy and pure and full of ardent devotion.

“FAITH AND COURAGE ARE ALWAYS CONSTRUCTIVE”

O Thou, who givest Thy bounty

With ceaseless love and tender blessing

Alas, how oft we come to Thee,

With fear, doubt and all this world’s endless possessions

Thou who givest Thy bounty

We pray that thou givest us power of sanctity

To receive thy blessing always.

 

Fear is never constructive.  People who are dauntless through faith, through courage, through higher inspiration, they attain fulfillment; because their being is quickened, all their powers are aroused.  A person who is exhibiting courage and faith in every circumstance is a model character.

 

Faith is a positive quality which can motivate you when you are in distress. It is said, by the power of faith one can remove mountains, bondage breaks, and sins are wiped out.  Through faith the sick are healed and the lame walk.  People who have no faith, loses the courage to perform.  But it is not the negative faith that can remove evil.  It is not dogmatic faith that can heal or work miracles.  It is a faith that takes form in action. This faith is fundamental and finds expression in wisdom and loving service. Be full of such faith. Faith helps very much in advance spirituality.

 

Thoughts of the day:-

 

O Thou Supreme Master, rouse in me undaunted faith

Kindle in my heart the fire of wisdom

That by its light I may see and feel Thee everywhere

All my power comes from Thee

May I use it wholly in Thy Service?

“HUMILITY IS THE RICHEST JEWEL YOU CAN WEAR”

 

O’ Master,

 

Wouldst thou worship the High, the Holy?

Then strip thyself of this garment of self and put on a fresh vestment of humility.

 

Humility is the greatest ornament in life.  If you place your hand in the Divine Hand with real humility, no one can take you away from Divinity.  If you come with truly humble heart, no one can cast you off from the Divine.  Some people when they receive a blessing are able to retain it, because they are humble and receptive.  Among those who aspire are many different types, some must express their devotion through austerity; they are unbending and critical of others in the spiritual life.  There is another type which employs only mildness, gentleness and humility in every task.  Great souls belong to the second type.

 

Humility is a saintly jewel which will take you to the next step, kindness.  During our busy life, where is the time to show humility and kindness?  This may be a question from everyone of today’s modern world.  Humility is the quality which can be applied in all your transactions.  Humility when interlinked with love becomes kindness.  This application of humility should be unconditional and without any expectation.  Humility with expectation cannot lead you to kindness.  It becomes a show.

All the persons in NC who are connected with our beloved Master receive this quality of humility from Him and it is transmittable.  Kindness also should become contagious and spread to everyone in this universe.  How a girl does not become beautiful without an ornament, spiritual persons cannot become beatified without this ornament of humility.  Mother Teresa is an example.

If this be Thy pleasure, I shall keep it clean, untouched and apart.

 

When your mind is simple and your heart is one-pointed, then you will be seeing only light. “When Thine eye is single, thy whole body is also full of light.” This is not only a spiritual fact, it is a practical fact.  A man who scatters his thought over many things, he is always weak and his mind is confused.  Man must find out how to maintain connection with his Source.  The calculating mind never finds it; the selfish mind never finds it. That mind which is pure, cleansed and shining-that mind alone finds it.

 

What is truth really?  Truth is the thing which you are experiencing every now and then.  What you hear, what you see, what you think need not be true.  Your experience is only the truth and not your imagination.  By undergoing spiritual training, we do not allow to scatter our thoughts.  Single minded thought should be towards truth always.  This single minded thought may be utilized by certain people for negative purposes also.  Spiritual persons seldom use their mind for negativity.  Holding of truth gives tremendous power and courage, because truth gives purity.  Whatever others say and whatever you hear from others must be investigated clearly to know the truth.  Whatever you see may be a superficial truth but the cause may not be known.  Once you know the cause for every happening, you realize the truth.  Create faith in truthful people, who always tell truth to you.

We must find time to balance our forces and faculties.  Our spiritual power can be tremendously increased.  It depends upon our balance and the common sense we use.  Our character must be sound, our life must be rhythmic, and then order and harmony will become natural to us.  A mind that has a sense of order puts everything where it belongs.

 

Spiritual practice is to give mental strength and courage.  When we practice under a vibrant guide, He transmits His power to the practitioner.  When we want to acquire the spiritual power, we must internalize Him unconditionally.  This unconditional acceptance of the Master brings us lot of strength and courage.  After some stage, we will be in a position to transmit His power to others.  Anyone who comes near us can feel and experience this transmission.  Practitioner may or may not feel it.

 

If we are not able to show a vibrant face to others, what is the use of spiritual practice?  We should acquire a power of motivation and try to council people who are in distress and suffering.  We should not have any fear to talk and approach anyone in this universe.  No hesitation and no prejudice towards anybody.  Achieve the power of love from the Master and transfer to others.  Be happy with the Master, wherever you are and share the happiness with others.

 

Thoughts of the day:-

 

O Thou Infinite Master, bestow upon me the gift of discrimination

That I may cross over all difficulties and rough places trusting to Thy protection and guidance

Kindle in me a new faith, a new surrender

May I never seek to follow my own will, Or shape my life according to my own plan?

Help me never to retard my spiritual growth by acting contrary to Thy Divine Plan

May I seek my peace in Thee alone?

Love is a miracle!

Behold its working in life!

It is life. It is soul.

It is beauty.  It is joy.

It is peace. It is all! It is all!

 

The awakened man seeks not revenge, nor tries to injure those who injure him.  He does not complain or condemn, but strives to benefit those who maltreat him.  He feels that he would rather be defeated and cheated again and again than grow distrustful of his fellowmen.  A person who is ignorant does not recognize the oneness of all mankind.  It is easy for him to bring pain and suffering to others. But he who is awakened, he sees all men as his brothers and he shrinks from hurting any living thing.

 

Who do not want love and kindness in this universe?  Everyone likes loving him by others and showing kindness.  Human being is created by God to undergo love & kindness and spread these qualities to others. All of us have come here in this planet to live quietly and not to struggle to live.  Human beings are the straight enemies for human beings.  We are not allowed to stay peacefully only by our own caste.  The God will be strong enough to take care of everyone here, provided more number of saints should be available here.  Saints are the persons who work and live for others.  They pray to God to give courage and strength to everyone in this universe to live peacefully. If everyone becomes saints, where is the question of selfishness and fight for freedom?  When the selfishness is removed, everyone in this universe is freed.

O Thou All-abiding One, abide in my soul

And fill it with Thy holy love

May I pour out that love freely upon all Thy children?

Make me so unselfish that I shall never ask anything for myself

But may I be ready always to share all my blessings with my fellow-men?

“YOU SERVE MOST BY THE EXAMPLE YOU SET”

 

O’ Master,

 

But I read on thy face

That thou art destined for thy goal,

Thy faith is not broken;

Thy courage not gone

Call them forth and hold awhile

Till thy journey is done.

 

We cannot check or impede our own progress without impairing the happiness of others.  We cannot fail ourselves without weakening others.  Failure will never overtake us as long as we keep our contact with the Divine Master.  Evil cannot touch us when we realize our oneness with Him. But we cannot be united with our Divine Self until we have been disunited from our lower self. (Selfishness)  When we have union with our Higher Self, we have an asset that is permanent.  Then poverty, sickness, misfortune, may come but we are untouched by them.

 

Setting right examples in our life is very difficult unless we practice it.  Spiritual training is only to learn and practice all good qualities of human being.  All of us what are good and bad very well.  Inspite of knowing these qualities, we never try to practice.  This is due to lack of purity in mind to activate these in our life.  When the selfishness is more in us, we cannot get purity; we behave like an ordinary human being with lot of negativity inside.  We have to come out from this situation to earn purity of mind.  Unless otherwise, we get this purity, there is no use of doing any social service.  Service for the sake of name, fame and other material benefits never take one towards Him.  Our culture of maintaining morality has got highest value in spirituality.

May Thy touch quicken my heart with new life?

Do Thou fill every corner of my being with fresh strength and determination?

May I never falter or turn back in following Thy path

May I glorify Thee and make myself worthy of Thy loving protection.
