Hindutva in real sense
Contents given below is from article published in mouna chandrike newsletter on 5-Oct-2018
To ensure a contented and peaceful life to everyone and plenty for all is a dream in the present times. The expectation to devise an ideal formula for the governance of the life of entire populace of this land has given room to many attempts without understanding the principle of 'Life in Spirit' advocated by our fore fathers which is quite consistent with the greatest and highest heritage of our country.
Scientific experiments conclude that matter is indestructible but it is yet to establish the presence of Spirit in Matter, the cause for the latter's indestructible nature. The Spirit which itself is indestructible is in constant association with matter and therefore transmits its protective power over it. The absolute state of Spirit and its indestructibility or its freedom from the qualitative influences of matter, is a fact this land has promulgated as a fundamental truth long long ago.
Hindutwa is a culture based on this Tatwa or concept gifted to us by saints of yore. It is not a religion as it is understood in recent times. It is a way of leading human life evolved over more than fifty centuries with the sole aim of uplifting the welfare of the society in general and the human beings in particular. It does not have any dogmas or disciplines but have certain principles open to every human being. These principles, as spelt out below, are in pursuance of the said goal:
सर्वे à¤à¤µà¤¨्तु सुखिनः
सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः।
सर्वे à¤à¤¦्राणि पश्यन्तु मा कश्चिद्दुःखà¤ाग्à¤à¤µेत।
शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः॥
Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah
Sarve Santu NirAamayaah |
Sarve Bhadraani Pashyantu
Maa Kashcid-Duhkha-BhaagBhavet |
Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih ||
Meaning:
1: May all become happy,
2: May all be free from illness.
3: May all see what is auspicious,
4: May no one suffer.
5: Peace, Peace, Peace.
The selection of 'Secular' as the ideal path for societal harmony was proved wrong because the secular way of life failed to bring about the perfect union of people of this land as it is already obvious by the happenings of present day events. The secular way of life is inherently separatist and disruptive even as religions are and had been so far. What we want is an ideal blending of Spiritual and Secular ideologies at their top with unifying rather than separatist ideologies.
Spiritual concept becomes a religion when we essentially incorporate 'faith in God' in it and make everything to revolve around that faith. But Hindutwa culture is a matured one which does not force anyone to believe in God and other dogmas or disciplines. Whether one believes in God or not, whether he follows any disciplines and dogmas or not, but still he remains a Hindu.
The Tatwa says that everyone has got a power within and the power can give wisdom, so as to live in this world without disturbing others. Humans have come to the earth to live happily and die in peace. One need not search happiness from outside but it is available aplenty within the human being.
In order to experience happiness and peace, one has to totally empty his mind from thoughts and achieve purity of mind. The happiness mentioned here is not mere materialistic happiness but it is the Divine bliss incomparable to the materialistic happiness. To acquire this condition one need not possess education, health, money, position, wealth or authority. It requires Tapas (deep meditation), the process of cleansing the mind from thoughts.
God is a condition of the mind and not a position for a human being to achieve. Teachings from Upanishads to some extent help us to know about the truth within 'you' (the human being). The Tatwa says, as long as you are not in a position to know your true 'self', your living here in this world can be miserable. To know your true 'self', the plane (the human mind) or the self within, should be cleansed of all the existing impurities. (Note: all desires, expectations, worries and impressions are considered as mental impurities).
Once the mental plane is emptied from impurities, this plane gets transformed to the next higher plane called Atma or Spirit. To reach to this plane, one has to do Tapas without any actions involving the mind. The mind should be trained to keep still without thoughts.
Once the mental plane is transformed to Atma or Spiritual Plane, your 'self' is named as Atman, Atma being the condition of the mind. This Atman attains the power not to receive any disturbance from the outside world and it is mentioned as Suddha Atma or Pure spirit.
This Suddha Atma was the original condition of 'self' which was created from a particular element called Suddha-Brahmam, the unmanifest vast cosmos, which is invisible to ordinary human eyes. Atma is the small portion of this Brahmam and if the Atma plane is able to connect with the Brahmam, the Atma also becomes Brahmam. Afterwards, the 'self' is called as Brahman. This condition is called as Aham Brahman Asmi (I am the Brahman).
There is a hidden power beyond the Atma or Brahmam plane in every human being which can be utilized to destroy the thoughts in the mind, if it is activated or awakened properly. This hidden power is called Shivam, the Ultimate, beyond everything.
Once this Shivam is activated and connected with the Atma Plane, the plane changes into the next one, the Paramatma Plane. This is the highest condition that a human being can attain. Here “Yourself' or Atman is not separate from the plane Paramatma. Yourself is called as Paramatma itself in such a condition.
To achieve all these above mentioned planes, one need not have faith in God or any scriptures, Vedas or anything else. One may belong to any religion or cult; still he can attain this highest plane.
Shivality is a concept integrating the above mentioned principles from pure Hindutwa culture and hence it is not a religion with dogmas and disciplines of any faith. There is a prescribed discipline to be followed until one reaches the above condition. Afterwards He is free from everything.
According to Upanishads and Shivality, it is the wisdom which gives one freedom from all the mental disturbances and not because of any faith. It not only liberates one from worries, anxiety or experiencing fear during one's life in this materialistic world (a state of Jeevanmukhta - free from the feeling of living) but also gives salvation, the freedom from the cycle of births and deaths.
Shivality may appear as a revolutionary concept but in practice it is a transition from revolutionary to evolutionary concept, from nationalism to universalism and that is what the human species eventually needs right now.
